Zoning Regulation Workshop
Date & Time: Wednesday, August 14, 2024, immediately following the regularly scheduled Planning Board Meeting, which begins at 6pm.
Location: Second Floor Conference Room of the South Campus Building, 40 11th Street West, Suite 200, Kalispell, Montana.
Workshop Information: This will be an open discussion regarding the Flathead County Zoning Regulations. We will be discussing how to allow for more affordable housing by allowing for more housing choices within our Zoning Regulations. Members of the public should come with their ideas to improve the Zoning Regulations and what Zoning Regulations they are currently struggling with. Things that we are currently discussing revisions on are parking requirements, setbacks, height restrictions, and the number of permitted dwellings in certain zones. It would be beneficial for the Planning Board to hear from the individuals who have experience and expertise with the Zoning Regulations and their constraints.

FPP-23-22 Steamboat Landing
On June 4, 2024, the Flathead County Commissioners determined that additional information provided is considered new information.
Due to this determination by the Commissioners the Flathead County Planning Board will be holding a subsequent public hearing on July 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM to consider only the new information provided.
Members of the public will be able to address their concerns regarding only the new information at this public hearing. Once the public hearing on the new information has been closed, the Flathead County Planning Board will review the proposal in its entirety.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Bigfork Land Use Advisory Committee
A seat on the Bigfork Land Use Advisory Committee (BLUAC) is currently open for appointment. The term will begin June 1, 2024, and continue until May 31, 2025.
Interested parties must be residents and registered voters within the BLUAC jurisdiction for a minimum of two years.

The Flathead County Planning & Zoning Office provides technical planning assistance to Flathead County. We are administered by the Board of County Commissioners. Our primary responsibilities include assisting in all facets of long-range Community and Neighborhood planning, Zoning Administration, and Subdivision Review. We also administer the Flathead County Lakeshore Protection Program and Flathead County Floodplain Program. Our staff is available to talk about any aspect of development occurring in Flathead County.
