OFFICE HOURS: 8 AM - 5 PM MONDAY - FRIDAY

ATTENTION

Effective March 24th, we will limit public access and provide services through modified processes.

Electronic document submission is encouraged.

Documents can be placed in the south Courthouse entrance drop-box during regular business hours.

We can be reached by phone, e-mail or mail.

Access to our internal office will be by appointment.


RECORDING INFORMATION

The Clerk and Recorder's office records any document that is authorized or required by statute or court order to be recorded.  Any documents presented for recording must meet the requirements of Montana statute.

Realty Transfer Certificate

The Realty Transfer Certificate (RTC) has been revised and is vital in determining the current ownership of water rights.

All Deeds recorded in Flathead County must be accompanied by the new properly executed RTC.  Currently, the new form is available only at the following link on the Department of Revenue website.

Flathead County Public Information Request Policy


Any request for public information must be made in writing by the Clerk and Recorder Public Information Request.

The form must be printed and must be accompanied by the required funds. If you have any questions, please contact our office at one of the numbers provided.
