WHAT CAN BE RECORDED?
The Clerk and Recorder's office records any document that is authorized or required by statute or court order to be recorded. Any documents presented for recording must meet the requirements of Montana statute.
WHAT DO I NEED TO RECORD A DOCUMENT?
In most instances documents must be fully filled out, signed, notarized, and had their legal description (if applicable) approved by the Plat Room on the same day as recording.

REALTY TRANSFER CERTIFICATE
(PLEASE NOTE THAT A REALTY TRANSFER CERTIFICATE DOES NOT TRANSFER PROPERTY BY ITSELF AND MUST BE FILED WITH A DEED)
The Realty Transfer Certificate (RTC) has been revised and is vital in determining who property taxes are issued to and the current ownership of water rights.
All Deeds recorded in Flathead County must be accompanied by the new, properly executed RTC.
