INVITATION TO BID:
FAIRGROUNDS NORTH BLEACHER DEMO AND DISPOSAL PROJECT
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana, will receive sealed bids at the Flathead County office located at 800 South Main Street, Room 302, Kalispell, MT 59901 until 4:00 p.m. local time on July 31st, 2024, for construction of the FLATHEAD COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS NORTH BLEACHER DEMO AND DISPOSAL PROJECT (Project). Bidders shall submit sealed bids addressed to Flathead County, enclosed in envelopes plainly marked on the outside " FLATHEAD COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS NORTH BLEACHER DEMO AND DISPOSAL PROJECT”. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud that following morning in the Commissioners’ Chambers, Third Floor, Historic Courthouse, Kalispell, MT.
This Project will be subject to all applicable state and local regulations as indicated within the specifications. All work must be substantially complete within 30 calendar days after the commencement date stated in the notice to proceed. Notice to proceed is anticipated for August 21st, 2024.
The site of the work is located within the Flathead County Fairgrounds, Kalispell, Montana. The work generally includes demolition and disposal of the existing lead based paint contaminated bleachers, removal and replacement of approximately 500 cubic yards of low-level lead containing soils under and around the bleachers and all other related work in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond payable to Flathead County, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful Bidders shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance, as required, shall be provided by the successful Bidder(s) and certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided.

The contractor and any of the contractor’s subcontractors doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) except as listed in MCA 39-9-211.
There will be an optional pre-bid conference meeting for interested bidders held at the Flathead County Fairgrounds at 2:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024. The contractor’s representatives are strongly encouraged to attend.
The contractor performing work on a “Public Works contract” shall not pay less than the latest Montana Labor Standard Provisions minimum wage as determined by the U.S. Secretary of Labor. A copy of said wage rate is attached as part of the contract documents.
Flathead County reserves the right to waive informalities, to reject any and all bids, and, if all bids are rejected, to re‑advertise under the same or new specifications, or to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of Flathead County.
The award of bid will be made solely by the issuance of a letter of award to the successful bidder by the Office of the Board of Flathead County Commissioners.
