  • Question: Birth and Death Certificates

    Please contact the Flathead County Clerk & Recorder's Office, located on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse, 800 South Main, Kalispell, MT.  Phone: 758-5526

  • Question: Budget
  • Answer:

    For budget questions/information, please contact the Flathead County Finance Department, located on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse, 800 South Main, Kalispell, MT.  Phone: 758-5538

  • Question: Building Permits
  • Answer:

    The citizens of Flathead County voted against a County Building Department, therefore, there are no County Building Permits.

    Please contact the City of Kalispell to see if you fall within the jurisdiction of the Kalispell Building Department (which does extend past the City Limits).  Phone: 758-7730

    You will need to be approved by the State of Montana for electrical and plumbing inspections:

  • Question: Firing Range

  • Question: Indigent Burial
  • Answer:

    A completed application must be received at the Commissioners Office prior to burial or cremation and must meet indigent criteria. 

    Deceased must be a resident of Flathead County.

    Please contact the Commissioners Office (phone: 758-5501) or contact the funeral home for an indigent burial application.

    We do not pay for funeral services, graveside services, memorial services, embalming, transportation of remains, caskets, urns, etc.  There is a flat fee paid for either cremation or burial.  Please contact the Commissioners Office to obtain the fee information.

  • Question: Raffle Permit

    Raffle permits are available under "Downloads" on the Board of Commissioners page. 

    1.     There is no fee.

    2.     The permit must be filled in and returned to the Commissioners Office for approval.

    3.    The second page of the permit must be filled in and returned to the Commissioners Office within 30 days of the raffle date.
