Medicare Benefits Counseling & Assistance

State Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
Assistance with Medicare/Medicaid and supplemental insurance. We help with finding the best Part D (prescription) plan to meet your needs.

Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)
This is a project that recruits volunteers to learn about the Medicare system and teaches beneficiaries how to read their insurance statements. This program is meant to help fight fraud, waste, and abuse in the insurance field.

Social Dining (Congregate Meals)

We provide balanced lunch meals in our spacious dining room at the Agency on Aging at 40 11th Street West in Kalispell, and at local senior and community centers. These meals offer seniors an opportunity to have a mid-day balanced meal and to visit with friends and neighbors. For 60+ we ask for a donation of $4. For guests under 60 years of age, the cost for lunch is $8. Visit our home page for the current month's menu. Ombudsman Program

Advocacy for all residents of long-term care facilities (nursing homes and assisted living facilities), assisting them in resolving problems or complaints. The program serves to monitor the quality of care and life for residents of long-term care facilities. For more information call 406-758-5730.

  • Rides must be scheduled on weekdays between 7:15 AM - 6:00 PM.
  • Riders 10 years old and younger must be accompanied.

  • Rides are first come first serve based on time availability.
  • Columbia Falls On-Demand - 9:00 AM - 3:30 (Monday - Friday)
  • Whitefish On-Demand - 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

Fireworks Vendor

Issued to persons operating a firework stand between the following dates:

  • June 24th through July 5th: $50 per stand
  • December 29th through 31st: $25 per stand

Issued to persons going door-to-door or business-to-business selling their wares, within the County.

  • Cost: $25 every 90 days

Issued to persons selling wares at temporary locations within the County, but outside the City limits.

  • $25/week per location.

Food trucks operating outside of city limits: $25 per week.

Liquor License

Establishments must register with the State of Montana first at (406) 444-6900. Fee is based on the determination of the State and is paid to both the State and the County.

The Montana Asthma Program (MAP) provides free services to help children, adults, and their families learn how to better manage asthma in their daily lives.

Travel Immunizations

Meet with one of our travel nurses for a specialized travel consultation before you on your trip outside of the United States. Depending on your destination, you may need vaccinations to help protect you from food, waterborne, and insect-borne diseases that are common in certain countries.

Some of the vaccinations provided include:

  • Yellow Fever
  • Typhoid
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • Meningitis
  • Hepatitis A & B
  • Tetanus

Please bring a copy of your travel itinerary to your appointment so that the nurse can help determine which vaccines you should receive.

The Flathead City-County Health Department provides immunizations for all ages. Immunizations are currently available by appointment only on the following days:

Monday and Friday 9:00-12:00 and 1:30 to 4:00pm

Thursday 1:00-4:30 pm

*Please note that appointments for TB Tests will only be available on Mondays and Fridays.
