Caregiver Support

We are here to support family caregivers! We offer services such as respite through in-home care. Respite provides relief for the caregiver of an older person at home. We also offer information and assistance to caregivers; access to our resource lounge (appointments required), in which you and/or family members can view educational materials, including webinars, and meet with a trained professional for life care planning. FCAS Volunteer

Volunteers are a vital part of FCAS. From socializing animals, encouraging positive training methods, grooming, or becoming a foster home and providing a safe haven to emotionally or medically compromised pets. Each of our volunteers becomes a member of our team on our mission to save the lives of homeless pets.

Family Planning
Working Cat Program

To help curb the number of feral cats and kittens in the county, FCAS will examine and sterilize outdoor, feral cats caught by the Flathead Valley community. There is no charge for this service, and every cat will receive the following:

  • Spay/Neuter Surgery
  • Rabies & FRCP Vaccination
  • Parasite Prevention
  • Microchip Identification 
  • Ear Tipping

Unwanted feral cats can also be rehomed to welcoming barns or shops, as long as there is an available working home.

EMS Accreditation Renewal Form

This link is to allow members of any Flathead County EMS, Fire or SAR agency to submit their information for renewal.

Meals on Wheels

This is a service that provides the homebound (persons unable to leave their home without assistance) with hot, nutritious noon meals delivered by volunteers Monday through Friday. Special diets such as diabetic, low cholesterol or other special needs may be accommodated.

Flathead County Records (After 1984)

The iDoc Web Portal allows access to Flathead County recordings back to 1984 from the comfort of your own home or office. The images and index information are uploaded each night and made available through a secure, password-protected web portal. Users can easily locate documents, view the detailed indexing information, and even view and print the image. If you click on "Basic Search", you can view our indexing for free. We offer both short-term passes and longer term subscriptions for viewing and printing images.  Depending on your needs there is a package for you.

Veteran Directed Care Program

The Veteran Directed Care Program (VDC) empowers Veterans to hire and supervise care providers (may be a family member) to help with daily needs. This program is a partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs, who determines eligibility and establishes participant budgets. All VA enrolled veterans, regardless of age, are eligible if they meet the clinical need for the VDC program. Once approved by the VA, an Agency on Aging Care Coordinator will work with the Veteran to develop a self-directed plan of care and will provide ongoing support to manage the care plan. Property Tax Lien Procedures

The statutes and regulations surrounding tax lien sales leave considerable room for interpretation.  This policy manual is designed to provide Flathead County’s interpretation of these statutes, but it is important to understand more than one interpretation of these statutes is possible.  This policy manual is not legal advice nor does Flathead County provide legal advice to anyone regarding tax lien sales.

Realty Transfer Certificate

The Realty Transfer Certificate (RTC) has been revised and is vital in determining the current ownership of water rights.

All Deeds recorded in Flathead County must be accompanied by the new properly executed RTC.  Currently, the new form is available only at the following link on the Department of Revenue website.

The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) is intended to increase awareness throughout the community of the financial operation of the County. As such, this report is written in a user-friendly manner that will summarize and communicate the County’s financial condition.

Montana Disabled Veteran Assistance Program

The Montana Disabled Veterans (MDV) Assistance Program helps disabled veterans or their unmarried surviving spouse by reducing the property tax rate on their home. The veteran must have 100% disability from an injury related to service.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening

The Montana Cancer Screening Program pays for breast and cervical cancer screenings for people who qualify based on age, income, and insurance status. Screening services include clinical breast exams, mammograms, and Pap tests. Diagnostic testing is provided for the follow-up of abnormal screening tests. We partner with local providers, which means that you can see whoever you want, and it will be just like a regular appointment.

Our staff is available to guide you through the screening process, even if you do not qualify based on age, income, and insurance status.
