Dust Abatement
Only a licensed, insured, and bonded individual or contractor may apply dust abatement on the County Roads.
For the application to be part of the dust cost share program please contact our office or see pdf link to print. This will only be available from mid-January to the end of the deadline each year.
If you are a landowner wishing to have a contractor apply dust abatement, but not a part of the dust cost share program, please schedule the application with the contractor of your choice. (See links below) Your contractor will coordinate with The County to prepare your county road before the application of dust suppressant.
June 10th we started Dust Cost Share in the southern part of Flathead Valley.
June 17-18th were rain delay days.
June 19 we will resume dust abatement program in the North Fork. There is approximately 20 miles of North Fork Road in the program. It will take several days to complete. Road signs and traffic control will be in place by Lyman Dust Control Services. Please be mindful of the crews involved and be patient in your travels.
We continue to move along with the Dust Cost Share program. June 24th we are working on KM Ranch Road and other roads south of Whitefish. We will be heading towards West Valley areas next.
June 26th Dust Abatement will be in the Ashley Lake area then moving out towards Marion. Pre-grading areas will be in Kila and Smith Valley. If the weather cooperates, we would like to complete the Dust Cost Share program this week.
July 27th was a rain delay day.
