On March 1st, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated community respiratory virus guidance. 5-day isolation is no longer required for COVID-19. Individuals who are sick with COVID-19, influenza, RSV, or an unknown viral respiratory illness should stay home and away from others when ill.
Individuals may return to normal activities when they have had improved symptoms AND have been fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine. Currently, these updates do not pertain to healthcare settings.
