Gold Star Award Program
In an effort to recognize food service establishments that exhibit exemplary food safety standards, the Flathead County Board of Health adopted the Gold Star Program that became effective on January 1, 2014. The Gold Star Program was updated by the Flathead County Board of health on February 17, 2022. The current policy may be read by clicking here.
The Gold Star Program establishes specific standards that a facility must meet in order to be recognized with the Flathead County Gold Star Award for Food Safety. These standards include maintaining a grade of A or better, establishing specific food safety standard operating procedures, providing food safety training for employees training program and implementing monitoring procedures for ensuring safe food temperatures.
