West Nile Virus
West Nile Virus still has a presence in Montana and across the United States. Even though human cases of West Nile have not come close to the record number (222) set in Montana in 2003; some cases are recorded nearly every year in our state.
Flathead County collects and tests captured mosquitoes each summer from mid-June until September. Positive test results are forwarded to the Montana Department of Health and Human Services in Helena, MT for confirmation.
