Aug 1: Flathead County fire danger level has been raised to EXTREME.
- Niarada Fire has crossed into Sanders County
- East Fork fire is still contained to Lincoln County
- North Lake fire has grown to 11-12 acres
- Browns Meadows is under evacuation orders
July 31: Red Cross opens shelters in Missoula, Ronan, Arlee, and Kalispell. Everyone is welcome and services are free.
July 30: Niarada Fire mandatory evacuations from the top of the Pass on Browns Meadow Road South to Hwy 28, Nirada.
- 13 fires have been reported from dry lightning strikes.
- Kah and Bruce fires in Spotted Bear Ranger District are the largest fires.
- Hungry Horse reported 6 fires.
- Swan Lake Ranger District reports one fire that is contained.
- North Lakes, the north end of Whitefish Lake in Stillwater State Forest, is 5 acres. Cause: equipment.
- Werner Peak Lookout reported a fire.
July 29: Fire on Delray (aka North Lake) is reported.
July 27: Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, which go into effect beginning Saturday, July 29th, at 12:01
July 24: Fire Danger has been raised to VERY HIGH due to current weather conditions, fuel conditions, and weather forecast including the Red Flag warning issued for portions of Flathead County today.
