Agency on Aging Advisory Council

  • Five unexpired terms through December 31, 2027

The AOA Advisory Council is a non-governing board which furthers the Agency on Aging’s efforts to develop and coordinate community-based systems of services for older persons in Flathead County, including advising the agency relative to the interests of older persons, and participating in the development and implementation of the Area Plan on Aging.


Animal Advisory Committee

  • One unexpired through December 31, 2026

The Flathead County Animal Advisory Committee is made up of five Flathead County citizens appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The members of this committee advise the Board of Health concerning issues regarding control of stray dogs and cats and the operation of the Animal Shelter.


Big Mountain Fire District Board

  • One term through May 31, 2027 

Please note that you must be an elector (an individual qualified to vote under state law) who resides in the district, or any holder of title to lands within the district, who presents a proof of payment of taxes on the lands in the district for which you are applying in order to be considered for the position.


Economic Development Authority Advisory Board (FCEDA)

  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2025

The purpose of the Flathead County EDA is to promote, stimulate, develop, and advance the general welfare, commerce, economic development, and prosperity of the Flathead County Market Region, the State of Montana, and its citizens.


Fairview Cemetery Association Board

  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2027

The Fairview Cemetery Association Board is assigned the responsibility for the administration of the Fairview Cemetery District.


Fire Service Area (FSA) Advisory Board

  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2026 for a Middle Fork resident 
  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2027 for a resident west of Kalispell (within the FSA and no other fire district)

The Fire Service Area Advisory Board assists the Board of Commissioners in the management of the Flathead County Fire Service Area.


Olney Rural Fire District Board

  • One term through May 31, 2027 

Please note that you must be an elector (an individual qualified to vote under state law) who resides in the district, or any holder of title to lands within the district, who presents a proof of payment of taxes on the lands in the district for which you are applying in order to be considered for the position.


Smith Valley Rural Fire District Board

  • One term through May 31, 2027

Please note that you must be an elector (an individual qualified to vote under state law) who resides in the district, or any holder of title to lands within the district, who presents a proof of payment of taxes on the lands in the district for which you are applying in order to be considered for the position.


Swan Hill TV District Board

  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2027

The Swan Hill Television District Board is responsible for the administration of the Swan Hill Television District. To be eligible for this board, you must reside in the district.


Tax Appeal Board

  • Two terms through December 31, 2027

The Tax Appeal Board hears taxpayer appeals regarding the Montana Department of Revenue’s property tax assessment.


Transportation Advisory Committee

  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2027 for a Hospital, Nursing Home, or Retirement Representative
  • One unexpired term through December 31, 2027 for a regular member seat

The Transportation Advisory Committee assists the Agency on Aging in cooperatively assessing and prioritizing local transportation needs and identifying opportunities for community collaboration and coordination to help the Agency achieve more cost-effective service delivery, increase capacity to serve unmet needs, improve quality of service, and ensure services are easily understood and accessed by riders.  


West Valley Rural Fire District Board

  • One term through May 31, 2027
