Yes, you can pay by credit card. There is a 3% fee charged on all transactions. We take Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

- Question: Why does the previous owners name show on my tax bill?

OWNERSHIP INTEREST: Tax notices must be issued in the name of the owner of record as the property stood on January 1 of the taxing year. Therefore, properties that changed hands, were re-recorded, split or subdivided during the current year will not be reflected until the following year.
- Question: Can I pay online?

Yes. There is a 3% fee for credit/debit card transactions. Just click on the link on the left side that says PAY TAXES.
- Question: How can I get my mailing address changed?
- Answer:
The Plat room handles all address changes for real estate. Call them at 758-5510.
The Department of Revenue handles address changes on mobile homes and personal property.

The Montana elderly homeowner/renter credit is a property tax relief program that provides you with a refundable credit if you are age 62 or older, have resided in Montana for at least nine months during the year, occupied a Montana residence for at least six months during the year, and your gross household income is less than $45,000.
